Head of Business, Gordon Down

Gordon Down has joined us at Bury St Edmunds Audi team, continuing to strengthen the strong regional profile of the dealership.  Gordon has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, with an Aftersales background progressing in to General Management.  He has worked with the Volkswagen Group previously as well as other premium brands.

Mark Dockerill, Marriott Audi Brand Director added, "I am delighted that Gordon will be joining the team at Bury St Edmunds Audi, he brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge.  We wish him every success in his new position."

Gordon lives in Bury St Edmunds with his wife and four children. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, travelling, shopping and motorbikes.

Commenting on his new role, Gordon added, "I am very excited to start a new challenge within Marriott Motor Group and I look forward to working with my new team to provide an excellent service to our customers at Bury St Edmunds Audi."

 

General Sales Manager, Jamie Burrows

With a studious background of Business and Finance along with a real big interest in cars, Jamie was destined to become a major influence in our local motoring business. Wolsey Audi secured his services back in 1997 when they took him on as a Trainee Sales Executive. Since that time, he has worked diligently through the grades; becoming the A8 Advocate at Ipswich and onto the Group A8 Advocate for the Marriott Motor Group. He then moved into the management roles becoming the New Car Sales Controller moving into the role of the General Sales Manager at Ipswich. Is it a coincidence that Jamie has flourished at the same time as Audi’s journey to become the No. 1 Prestige Brand in the UK? Jamie comments, "I believe in hard work, dedication, honesty, team work and loyalty. Here at Bury St Edmunds Audi we should always be looking to improve ourselves and ensure we deliver an outstanding service to your customers."

On a personal note, Jamie took up cycling 2 years ago when a work colleague suggested a charity cycle ride. Although the weather held back the training he, along with five other colleagues, completed their fifty mile challenge. Jamie said, "Because of this I caught the cycling bug and have now completed a number of Sportive for Charities such as St Elizabeth Hospice, Action Medical Research and Cancer Research. My biggest challenge was in August 2015 when I took part in the London – Surrey Ride 100 in aid of Action Medical Research". Generally though, he has a love of all sports both taking part and watching, particularly Rugby and England. "Twickenham has become one of my favourite venues that just so happens to be in London which is also one of my favourite places to visit."

 

Service Manager, Gerald Piper

Gerald started in the motor industry in 1983 as a parts trainee and worked his way up to General Parts Manger. He has worked within Lex Retail group for 13 years covering parts, service, aftersales and then Operations manager. He became a member of the IMI during this time and was awarded Lex Aftersales Manager of the year in 1991. Gerald then joined Dovercourt Motor Company as Aftersales manager and worked within this group at various Management Levels. During this time he achieved Aftersales Manager of the year on 2 occasions in 2007 and 2008. The Marshall Motor Group was his next step, and as aftersales manager was placed 2nd nationally as Service Manager of the year within the Citroen Franchise nationally. I joined Bury St Edmunds Audi in 2011, since when they have achieved number 1 status for customer satisfaction for the regional area during 2012 and 2013. During this time, Gerald has achieved Accredited Audi Service Manager Status.

Gerald is a keen Squash player who also dabbles with badminton from time to time.

He enjoys worldwide travel, outdoor pursuits and landscape gardening; he also has a great love in all things Rugby, being an avid Bristol and England supporter.

Sales Manager, Jimmy Sammons

I have joined the group on the back of its reputation of Outstanding Customer Service and a fantastic company to work for.

With more than 18 years in the trade where I started out as a Sales Executive before progressing into Sales Management 13 years ago, I have also held General Manager posts and before joining Marriott I was the Group Used Car manager for another local dealer group.

I enjoy spending my time away from work with my family, and watching Football (too old to play) and riding my Motorcycle when the weather permits.

 

Transaction Manager, Tony-Anne Deveraux

I have been working in the motor trade since 2005 and joined Marriott Motor Group in March 2010 at their Audi Centre in Bury St Edmunds. I started my career with Audi as a Sales Executive and have since progressed to Transaction Manager. I gained my qualification as a Fully Accredited Audi Sales Executive and am currently training to become an Accredited Transaction Manager.

I’m pleased to support Bury St Edmunds Audi’s endeavours to promote a professional but friendly and inviting atmosphere with a Sales Team that are always happy to help and go that extra mile.

In my own time I enjoy family time, holidays and playing Netball with the local Stowaways.

Transaction Manager, Chris De La Cruz

Chris started in the motor trade in 2009 and joined the Marriott Motor Group in June 2014 at Ipswich Volkswagen. When the opportunity to move across to the Audi brand presented itself at Bury St Edmunds, Chris was pleased to make the move. When recently asked about his move to the Marriott Motor Group, in particular Bury St Edmunds Audi, he said, "I am proud to have joined a company where creating a fantastic buying experience for each and every customer is paramount.’

He enjoys spending spare time with his family.
